Steps to Configure Magento SAML SP
Step 1: Download and Enable Extension.
- Download the miniOrange SAML SP SSO plugin zip.
- Go to magento root directory.
- Create the new directories MiniOrange/SP inside the app/code directory.
- Unzip all contents of the zip inside the MiniOrange/SP directory.
- Run the following commands on command prompt to enable the plugin- 1. php bin/magento setup:upgrade
2. php bin/magento setup:di:compile
Step 2: Configuring Magento 2 as SP
Follow the steps below to configure Magento 2 as Service Provider
- In miniOrange SAML plugin, go to Service Provider Setup tab of the plugin.
- Provide the required settings (i.e. Identity Provider Name, IdP Entity ID or Issuer, SAML Login URL, X.509 Certificate) as provided by your Identity Provider and click on the Save button.
- By clicking on Test Configuration button you can check whether your IdP connection is successful and what attributes you are getting from IdP.
- In the free plugin, only NameID can be mapped with the Email and Username attributes of Magento. However, in the premium version of the plugin, multiple user attributes coming from the IdP can be mapped with the attributes present in Magento.
- When a user performs SSO, the NameID value sent by the IdP will get mapped to the email and the username of the Magento user.
- In the free plugin, you can choose a default role which will be assigned to all the non-admin users when they perform SSO. Go to Attribute/Role mapping tab and navigate to Role Mapping section.
- Select the Default Role and click on the Save button.
- In free plugin you can add a login button to enable SP-initiated SSO on your site. Other options like auto-redirect user, add a shortcode, complete website protection etc. is provided in premium versions of the plugin.
