It tells of a new shop in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine, called Needful Things, run by a mysterious stranger named Leland Gaunt. Whenever anyone walks by the shop it just happens to display an item in the window that stirs irresistible desires in that particular person to possess it.This was the basis for the 1993 film of the same name starring Ed Harris, Max von Sydow, Bonnie Bedelia, J. T. Walsh, and Amanda Plummer.
