◽️Dilwara Temples, a Jain pilgrimage site built from the 11th to 13th centuries using white marble, located in Mount Abu.

◽️Adinatha Temple in Ranakpur, the pinnacle of Jain architecture (built in 1439, white marble)

Internal photos of the unimaginably precise stone sculptures of these two Jain temples.

The main image, usually prohibited from being photographed, is on the cover.

The solemn beauty inside the temple is the pinnacle of India.

While there are many books on old Indian stone statues, there are very few, if any, art books that clearly show the stone statues of the Jain white marble from that time.

A book from nearly 30 years ago.

A must-see for collectors who collect Jain stone statues worth $100,000 to $300,000.

✴️The Hatheesingh Jain Temple (built in 1848), located near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, western India, is also magnificent and has overwhelming sculptures, making it a popular tourist destination in India, but it is still from the 19th century.

Compared to the sculptures of the two older Jain holy sites above, it is still noticeably newer.

✴️In the history of the dynasties, when Hindu temples and Jain temples were converted into Islamic mosques in the 1400s, the beautiful idol parts were scraped from the stone pillars and walls. The cultural properties of stone statues were destroyed, circulated, and finally went overseas, scattering around the world.

Jain stone statues date back to the 3rd century Kushan period from Mathura red sandstone, and there are also large standing statues made of sandstone and schist from the 10th to 12th centuries. They are very few in number and expensive, but therefore, there are many copies. Especially white marble copies with an aged look are frequently sold as genuine on Japanese Yahoo Auctions.

✴️Due to being an old book, there are scratches and stains due to aging. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about minor details. No returns.
